6
Days
Myanmar
(Yangon - Bagan - Mandalay - Amarapura - Mandalay - Heho - Kaung Dine - Inle Lake
- Pindaya - Heho - Yangon)
DAY 1: YANGON
""MINGALAR BA" – "have an auspicious day" – are the first words you will hear from our local tour guide. Welcome and transfer to hotel. Sightseeing to Mawtin Jetty, Chaukhtatkyi Pagoda, Karaweik Hall and sunset you will find your rest at the Shwedagon Pagoda, the highlight of your wonderful journey.
DAY 2: YANGON - BAGAN
Today take the flight to Bagan. Enjoy the whole day at the most extensive archaeological site in Asia. Among the 2000 temples you will see Ananda, Shwezigon, Thatbinnyu, and, and, and…Some you can walk to, others are best visited by bicycle or pony cart. Walking, bicycle or pony cart riding – finally now you will know that you must go barefooted in all pagodas.
DAY 3: BAGAN
- MANDALAY - AMARAPURA - MANDALAY
Breathe the unpolluted air on the wooden U Bein Bridge in Amarapura
and visit the famous hand weavers: How exiting to watch the skill of
the threads being tied! Back to Mandalay, the most famous pagoda - the
Mahamuni Pagoda and the world's largest book - the Kuthodaw Pagoda.
The climb of 1,729 steps to the Mandalay Hill will reward you with a
firm and sound sleep.
DAY 4: MANDALAY
- HEHO - NYAUNG SHWE - INLE LAKE
Air Mandalay will take you to Shan State - some call it "Switzerland
of Myanmar" (?). Don't forget your sun lotion! In a long-tailed
Sampa on the Inle Lake, rimmed by #0000FF mountains, you will see that
life here still follows ancient, traditional patterns. Floating
gardens, one leg-rowers, villages on stilts and, all around, the
Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, wonderful monasteries, and the reflection of the
cotton wool clouds - that's just magic!
DAY 5: INLE
LAKE - PINDAYA
- HEHO - YANGON
A visit of the Pindaya caves, hosting more than 8,000 Buddhas will
compensate you for the three and half hour ride on a bumpy road! In
the afternoon Air Mandalay will bring you back to the 21st century.
DAY 6: YANGON -
Departure Day
There is still enough to see, before you are going back into the 21st
century: Botataung and Sule Pagoda in the hub of the city, the City
Hall, designed by U Tin in 1925, the Strand Road with the Moorish arched
General Post Office and the red brick Customs House and of course the
sprawling Bogyoke Market.
