8 Days Myanmar with Kyaikhtiyo
(Yangon
- Kyaikhtiyo - Bago - Yangon - Bagan - Mandalay - Amarapura - Mandalay
- Heho - Kaung Dine - Inle Lake - Pindaya - Heho - Yangon)
DAY 1: YANGON
TODAY you arrive in the land of the golden pagodas and golden dreams.
The magical Shwedagon Pagoda will be on top of your sightseeing list
in the amazingly green city of Yangon.
DAY 2: YANGON
- KYAIKHTIYO
Make your own pilgrimage up to the mystical Golden Rock - precariously
perched high on the edge of the hill will make you believe in the
unbelievable!
DAY 3: KYAIKTHIYO - BAGO - YANGON
Travelling back to Yangon and crossing the
Sittaung
Bridge
you will reach Bago. Dream of the world's highest "Shoemadoo"
(Shwemadaw Pagoda), but the massive Shwetalayaung Buddha might show
you the way to Nirvana.
DAY 4: YANGON
- BAGAN
If you like it or not (!): Flights to Bagan are always early but you
will be rewarded. Enjoy the whole day at the most extensive
achaeological site in
Asia
- but there is not enough time to visit all of the 2,000 temples!
DAY 5: BAGAN
- MANDALAY - AMARAPURA
- MANDALAY
Today you will learn a lot about the daily life of monks and nuns. No
need to get up as early as the monks from Mahagahdayone Monastery,
widely known to be the most disciplined monastery in the country. On
the U Bein Bridge in Amarapura you will find peace and time to reflect
the ideas of Buddhist religion.
DAY 6: MANDALAY
- HEHO - NYAUNG SHWE - INLE LAKE
Air Mandalay will take you to Shan State - some call it "Switzerland
of Myanmar" (?). Don't forget your sun lotion! In a long-tailed
Sampa on the Inle Lake, rimmed by blue mountains, you will see that
life here still follows ancient, traditional patterns. Floating
gardens, one leg-rowers, villages on stilts and, all around, the
Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, wonderful monasteries, and the reflection of the
cotton wool clouds - that's just magic!
DAY 7: INLE
LAKE
- PINDAYA - HEHO - YANGON
A visit of the Pindaya caves, hosting more than 8,000 Buddhas, will
compensate you for the three and half hour ride on a bumpy road! In
the evening you will be back to the bustling city of Yangon!
DAY 8: YANGON / Departure
Day
A visit to the outstanding National Museum with its ornate treasures
will give you the impression that you haven't seen enough. Well -
always welcome back!
